What is powder coating technology and why is it better than traditional paint?

Powder coating is a modern and extremely durable method of finishing metal components, based on the electrostatic application of dry paint. This application method ensures that the electrically charged powder particles adhere precisely to the workpiece, evenly covering even the most challenging and hard-to-reach areas. The curing process takes place in a specialised oven at a temperature of around 200°C. The result is a perfectly smooth coating with very high resistance to mechanical damage, corrosion and UV radiation, which, in terms of both durability and aesthetics, is unquestionably superior to traditional wet painting.

On a day-to-day basis, we work with industrial companies, including those in the automotive and furniture sectors, as well as manufacturers of steel structures, machinery and architectural components, for whom consistency in production runs and adherence to deadlines are key. Due to the high curing temperature in the oven, this technology is suitable only for treating metals. We successfully powder coat components made of carbon steel, galvanised steel, stainless steel, as well as cast iron and aluminium. However, the powder coating method itself completely rules out coating wood, plastic or rubber – at such high temperatures, these materials would simply melt or be destroyed.

We have three independent polymerisation chambers, which give us considerable operational flexibility and ensure continuity of production. The first oven has a working area measuring 360 cm in length, 110 cm in width and 130 cm in height. The second chamber allows for the processing of components up to 410 cm in length, 130 cm in width and 170 cm in height. Our largest system, which defines the maximum dimensions of the materials we can accommodate, can handle components measuring up to 850 cm in length, 220 cm in width and 200 cm in height. Thanks to such extensive facilities, we can coat both small components and large-scale industrial or architectural structures with equal precision and without delay.

There is no need to do so, and in fact we advise against attempting to clean it yourself. In our paint shop, we carry out comprehensive preparation of every surface, and the process itself is always precisely tailored to the type of material, the quality of the existing coating and the specific requirements of the job. In the case of bare, clean steel, thorough degreasing is a standard step. Old, damaged coatings and rust, on the other hand, are removed using professional shot blasting. We also successfully repaint components where the existing paint coating is still in good condition, subject to one key condition – it must be the original powder coating. This carefully selected process of preparing and protecting the component provides a full guarantee that the new layer will adhere perfectly and permanently.

The powder coating process requires precision, which is why lead times depend on the size of the batch and the scope of the necessary preparatory work, such as professional shot blasting. We usually complete retail orders within a few working days. For our business clients and mass-production clients in the automotive or furniture industries, however, we set delivery schedules on a case-by-case basis. We place great emphasis on meeting deadlines so that our services integrate seamlessly with our partners’ production processes.

We treat every order individually to ensure a fair and accurate quote. The final cost depends primarily on the size and complexity of the component’s shape, but we also take into account the condition of its surface – heavily rusted parts simply require more work to clean. The price is also influenced by the type of paint chosen and the size of the order, regardless of whether it is a one-off project or an ongoing collaboration.

Yes, we provide transport services, taking a fully bespoke approach to the logistics of each order. The options and arrangements for organising transport depend primarily on the distance, the total order volume, the frequency of our cooperation, and the dimensions of the items themselves. For regular business partners and larger industrial volumes, we are happy to arrange bespoke transport solutions that guarantee on-time delivery and a smooth supply chain. We place great emphasis on securing the components properly to fully protect the finished premium coatings from any damage in transit. Even for one-off, larger orders, we strive to develop the most efficient and safe method of delivering materials to our facility and back.

We always select the appropriate paint based on the environment in which the item will be used. For components exposed to the elements, such as gates, balustrades or wheel rims, we use polyester paints, and we strongly recommend the use of Qualicoat-certified paints. This provides the best guarantee of long-term resistance to extreme weather conditions and fading caused by sunlight. For indoor applications, or as a reliable protective primer, we use extremely hard epoxy paints. From the perspective of cost optimisation and ensuring a smooth order fulfilment process, we usually recommend selecting colours from the standard RAL colour chart. This ensures almost immediate availability of materials, allowing us to maintain very competitive prices whilst consistently delivering the highest industrial-grade coating quality.

This is a highly environmentally friendly method of surface finishing. Unlike traditional paints, powder coating does not release harmful solvents into the atmosphere. Furthermore, in our paint shop we take effective care of the environment by optimising material consumption as much as possible. We minimise powder consumption by using top-of-the-range spraying equipment, basing our machinery on technologically advanced solutions from global leaders such as the Swiss company GEMA and the American firm Nordson. This precision of application allows for a significant reduction in paint wastage, making the entire process exceptionally clean and sustainable.
